Guild War - Gladiator's Gauntlet

The forest turned to scorched earth beneath his feet. They called him the "Walking Cataclysm"—The Infernal Golem, Rhox. With every step came the heavy thud of his tread and the roar of flames. But as he stood still amidst the ruins, the blazing core beating beneath his rocky shell gazed upon the fertile ash he created to nourish new life, and a low rumble echoed through the mountains.

The Scarred Titan

"It appears this one will not break easily." -White Tower Destroyer Long ago, when the bond between humans and elementals fractured, the world of Tya teetered on chaos. Elementals once ruled freely over their domains, their power untouched by mortal hands. But humanity, driven by fear and ambition, sought control. To maintain balance, most elementals were bound to human hosts. Yet one stood defiant—Rhox, the Wasteland Titan. Born from the shifting sands of the Wastes, Rhox was molded by the relentless desert winds and scorched earth. He viewed humanity's ambition as a threat to elemental purity. When emissaries from the White Tower came offering fusion, Rhox's refusal ignited a war between Earth Titans and humans. His resistance, however, isolated him from other elementals, particularly Vortex, the Maelstrom's Mind, and Voltus, the enslaved storm elemental. Vortex believed fusion with humans was necessary to protect the seas, but Rhox saw only betrayal in his mindset—an elemental sacrificing its essence for power. Voltus, too, earned Rhox's ire for allowing himself to be subjugated by humans, a fate Rhox swore he would never share. In the heart of this growing tension, Cyclone, a wind elemental who thrived in the chaotic freedom of the skies, stood apart. Unlike Voltus and Vortex, Cyclone shared Rhox's disdain for humanity's meddling, though his approach was less rigid. Cyclone's cunning and adaptability intrigued Rhox, and the two formed a mutual respect. They were often seen together in the heart of battle, their combined might creating storms that swept across the desert, leaving their enemies in ruins. Cyclone's chaotic nature offered Rhox a reminder that not all elementals bent to mortal will, strengthening his resolve. Despite his tentative bond with Cyclone, Rhox's isolation grew. His disdain for Vortex and Voltus created a rift with other elementals who believed compromise was the only path to survival. When the White Tower combined their forces and unleashed a spell of forced fusion on him, Rhox fought with unyielding strength, his stone form cracking but never breaking. Though he resisted complete fusion, the spell left him scarred—part humanoid, part elemental. Neither fully embraced by elementals nor defeated by humans, he became a living symbol of defiance. Now, Rhox roams the Wastes, a Titan burdened by his choices. His clashes with Vortex and Voltus sharpened his defiance, while his bond with Cyclone fueled his enduring resolve. He now walks a path between worlds, scarred but unbroken, ensuring that neither side tips the balance toward chaos.
