"She's traded the gavel for a mace. It suits her." -Ain, the Masked Prince There comes a point where words fall short, and the actions of heroes are required. For many years, princess Livian, the Aristocratic Aegis, had forgotten the weight of her ancestral armor and the balance of her many-notched mace. But when she was scorned by her lover in favor of the Blood Mother, the impending storms on the horizon forced her from a throne room unto a battlefield teaming with undead. In the fae kingdom where she ruled, beloved would hardly describe how Livian's people felt of her. With luminous emerald eyes and lustrous hair that seemed to catch the sunlight itself, beauty and kindness radiated through her very pores. Though trained extensively in mace and shield, the fae princess set down her arms when she discovered she could better defend her people with her talents of locution. Politics were of little interest to her as a child, but it did not take long to recognize her giftedness. Her people would travel for leagues on end to visit her, seeking resolves to ancient family feuds and archaic local policies which had sparked endless quarrels. In meetings with other nations, rooms filled with cantankerous men would fall silent as she spoke, her words like a balm on a wound. She settled each dispute with the kindness and grace only a princess could muster, and all of Tya recognized her brilliance. It's what drew her to Daemon, the Exile of Bloodmoon. Their connection was magnetic. With their energy polar opposite to one another's, a melding between the pair was almost inevitable. Where Daemon, was brash and daring, filling her with excitement, Livian was wise and benevolent, soothing the burns caused by his own inner flame. The fae of their kingdom lived vicariously through their love, and for a time all seemed idyllic. Only for a time. Word of Daemon's betrayal spread like wildfire. On a mission to dispatch the Blood Mother, Volka, he had instead fallen victim to her sinister charm. The cavalier fae Livian had fallen impossibly in love with was now second-in-command to an army of vampires, hellbent on draining every last drop of blood from Tya's shores and enacting perpetual night. What's more, he'd even maimed his own brother, Ain, in his madness. Recognizing diplomatic tactics were beyond moot, Livian donned her familial armor once more and set off with her squire, Theowin, to challenge her former lover head-on. No doubt their clash will send ripples of sorrow throughout all of Tya.
