Life in the Roaring Canyon is difficult, not only filled with challenges from its violent wildlife and geography with its frequent earthquakes and floods but also because of the warlike Orc inhabitants who give the canyon its name. It has long been said that the worst enemy of Orc is Orc, but under Ghan, the threat of a united Orc realm looks likelier and more menacing than ever. Ghan is the second-born son of the Bloodaxe clan chieftain, with his elder brother Kagin inheriting the tribe and all his father's belongings after he was killed in a battle against the Gorebone clan. However, Kagin was not like his fearless father. He was weak, easily swayed, scared of battle, and influenced by outsiders seeking to take control of the Bloodaxe power vacuum, both from other Orc tribes and outsiders. A youth of 15, Ghan was infuriated by his brother allowing the subjugation of his people and openly challenged him to control over the clan before the Storm King unleashed fury on them. Ghan had been raised by his father to follow the Storm King, a violent figure who controls the weather of the land, is blamed for its disasters, and fights with thunder and lightning. However, Ghan felt his brother was abandoning the old ways and would earn the ire of the Storm King. Ghan argued the clan was in crisis and if his brother was not removed from power, then they would soon be enslaved. This prompted the clan to rise up in support of Ghan and declare him chieftain but not before Kagin, supported by the Gorebone clan, challenged him to battle. On a fateful misty morning in the Roaring Canyon, Ghan rode out to battle on his mighty steed and slew Kagin with his father's axe. He chopped off his head and that of his mount, which he wears as part of his armor to this day. With the tribe unified behind his ferocity, he launched a 20-year-long campaign of warfare and terror to unify the tribes of the Roaring Canyon and take land from their neighbors. Unless they ride out together and enslave the world, Ghan fears it is the Orcs who shall be enslaved by outsiders. He has grown infamous for his horrific methods of execution of his enemies, from boiling rival Orc chieftains alive to destroying entire settlements that refuse to surrender to him. With his unrivaled brutality and love of violence, those inhabiting the lands surrounding the Roaring Canyon can no longer find comfort in telling themselves that they have nothing to fear from the Orcs as they lack unity. But how long can they ignore the rising power of Ghan before they face the axe he used to slay his own brother? How much longer until the horde is unified and Ghan's storm is unleashed on the world at large?
