Ardea

When the rupture from Mechapolis cast the land into ice, Ardea stood defiant, a beacon of warmth amid the encroaching frost. For seven days, she spun her blazing chains in a furious whirlwind, warding off the cold as an Orcish tribe—her kin, her family—flocked to her side, seeking the warmth only she could provide. On the seventh day, her flames dimmed, shifting from searing heat to crystalline cold. Transformed into the Arctic Ripper, her skin now radiates with glacial runes, her chains frozen yet whirling with impossible power. The tribe huddles close, sustained by the aura she bears—an unbreakable fusion of fire's memory and winter's resilience. Against the frigid wasteland, Ardea endures, her will as steely as the ice she now commands. With her tribe sheltered beneath her chilling light, she wields the frost as she once wielded flame, a guardian carved from the harsh heart of winter.

During a migration, Ardea's tribe discovered a mysterious land untouched for generations. Rich in resources, it promised her people a secure future. They settled there, until a force of invaders came to claim it. Ardea fought to protect her people and their new home. As she stood against the invaders, the ancient spirit of the land recognized her as its guardian and bestowed its power upon her twin blades. Their immense weight became a crushing force, cleaving through defenses and standing firm against the fiercest attacks.

Carnelian harvested the ichor of a demon who died enraged, then began testing its effect on the living. Ardea was the first subject to survive the infusion. Its soul forfeited, the demon's fury spread through her veins, mingling with her own until the two became impossible to differentiate. Carnelian watched with fascination as Ardea's power swelled beyond control. Whatever darkness now swam freely within her blood had found a new, potent vessel.
