Awakening
The earth stirs beneath me... it knows my path.
The spirits of the wild are waking, and they are hungry.
The winds carry my scent—soon, you'll all know my wrath.
My power flows like poison in the veins of the earth!
I am nature's reckoning, relentless and eternal!

"The pelts they wear, the fangs they bare—these are no mere affectations. They are remnants of the beasts they once were… or perhaps still are." —Blackroot Pellar In the wake of the Scalekin Empire's collapse, the Blackroot Bog became a refuge for exiles, rebels, and those seeking escape from the chaos left behind. Among them were the Shardwild Circle, a sect of druids who fell into internal strife. Some sought harmony with Tya's natural order, but others craved something darker—primal power untamed by the constraints of balance. They turned their gaze to the Sanguis Mountains, where the line between predator and prey, life and death, was as thin as twilight's edge. Legends whispered of an ancient magic hidden within vampiric tomes—rituals that could bind the essence of beasts to flesh and spirit alike. Members of the Shardwild Circle, desperate for strength, seized upon this knowledge. Through the consumption of blood, they gained the might, senses, and instincts of the wild. Those who partook in the ritual were forever changed—no longer merely druids, but something more...primal. Faelin and Kalina were born into this crimson legacy. Kalina, unusually compassionate, sought to use their gifts to heal the land and protect it from those who would see it razed. Faelin, however, felt the pulse of the hunt in her very marrow. Yet, despite her convictions, a seed of doubt festered within her. Rumors spoke of a time before the blood rites, of druids who had resisted the transformation and paid the ultimate price. Faelin dismissed these tales—until the day she stumbled upon an ancient bone, gnarled and blackened with age, deep within the Bog's depths. A druidic sigil was etched into it, one not spoken of among her kin. Driven by an unshakable unease, she delved deeper, uncovering a buried truth: the Blackroot Bog had once been the final stand of those who had refused the vampiric path. They had been betrayed, their bones left to rot, their spirits forgotten. As she traced their remnants, their whispers found her. In that moment, she was shown the past in agonizing clarity: the betrayal, the slaughter, and the desperate plea of those who had died clutching their beliefs. The spirits did not ask; they demanded. They offered her their pain, their wrath—power laced with venomous vengeance. For a moment, Faelin hovered on the precipice, her heart torn between the truth she had uncovered and loyalty to those who raised her. But she did not drink. Not yet. She returned to the Circle, changed. The whispers clung to her like mist, a constant reminder of the choice that loomed over her. Kalina watches her with wary eyes, sensing the weight in her sister's silence, pleading for her to let go of the past and find balance before it consumes her. But doubt gnaws at Faelin's thoughts. The hunt, it seems, is no longer just for prey—it is for answers, for truth, and for a place in the natural order she once believed unshakable. One thing is certain: the blood sings in her veins, and she does not know if she can silence it.
